This is a very powerful, yet quiet shredder. It doesn’t have a solid wastebin in the cabinet- only a wire frame on which to hang a bag. There is an auto, fwd, rev, and cd setting on the switch, but no OFF switch. I will definitely have to make sure this is unplugged and out of reach when my granddaughter visits. It is, however, one of the ONLY strip cut shredders (which are rare these days)I have found that shreds in 1/4 inch strips rather than half inch strips.
